THE BULLDOG CLUB INCORPORATED CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW

6th MARCH 2010:  JUDGE MR T.M.C. CARBERRY

I was honoured to take the centre of the ring at this prestigious show. I also thank those of you that gave me the supreme compliment of your entries. On the whole I am very pleased for the future of our breed. There were of course some exhibits that were not up to the standard required, but overall with the improvements to noses, eyes, and tails the breed has continued to move forward since my last appointment. As usual the bitches were of better quality overall than the males, I don’t know why this is but it has been a trait over the last few years.  If I may be so bold, I would ask you all, to carefully consider your breeding stock before you decide which ones to breed from and I am sure, we as a breed will then continue to make the improvements that we have seen over the last decade or so.

There now follows my judgement on your dogs.


 

MINOR PUPPY DOG  13/1

A real baby, nice head, good expression, tidy mouth, nice front, enough bone, cobby body with good ribs, moved ok 		 
2nd 122 Lunt. Jaqles Raffa.
Slightly bigger than 1st good skull, and foreface, good mouth and eyes, nice topline and tail, moved ok.

Fawn/White, Well grown puppy, Large head with enough work, flat skull, dark eyes, large open nostrils, stand off expression, good mouth. Heavy boned with a nice front and barrel ribs, moved ok. Best Puppy Dog. 		 
2nd 80 Goodwin. Britishpride Creed.
 
Red/White. sour expression, good upturn, big nostrils, and tidy mouth. Good reach of neck and nice topline, moved ok, needs to mature

Br/W. Standard size. Nice head with fine wrinkle, open nostrils, dark eyes and good upturn of jaw. Enough neck and tacked on shoulders with a cobby body. Moved well. 		 
2nd 93  Hurst. Linmist Yours Faithfully.
R/W Slightly taller than 1st nevertheless a nice dog, Flat skull, large nose good mouth, enough neck, good front moved ok.

W/R standard size, nice head with fine wrinkle, clear eyes of good shape, good nose and tidy ears. Good front and ribs, in hard condition, moved ok  
2nd 160 Kenmilquin Red Amber.
Red. A bit high on the leg, flat skull dark eyes, neat ears, good nose, well ribbed, moved ok

Standard sized white dog, good width between ears, good nose, clear eyes. Tidy front with good bone, nice rear angulation, moved ok.
2nd 177  Walker. Jaminic Ovation.
 
R/W. Standard cobby dog, flat skull, dark eyes, neat ears and nice turn of underjaw. Tidy front and nice topline, needs to tighten a little on the move.

Br/W. Standard size, cobby well balanced dog, good head with open nostrils dark eyes, and rose ears. Good front down to tight feet. Nice bodyshape with good topline and tail. Moved well.

R/W. Large skull, stand off expression, open nostrils, tidy front and good bodyshape. Moved ok.

B/W. large head with dark eyes and neat ears, good nose, straight front and barrel ribs, moved ok.

Red with black mask. Standard size well balanced dog, good expression, big nose, tidy front, well ribbed with deep brisket and nice topline, moved ok

R/W. Standard sized well balanced male of type and substance but not overdone in any department. Good overall shape from any angle. Lovely head with fine wrinkle, stand off expression, dark well placed eyes, neat ears and straight teeth in a good underjaw. Good front and cobby body with correct topline and enough rear angulation. Moved well coming and going, a dog I could take home. I was pleased to award him his well deserved crowning CC.
2nd 68 Garside CH Iceglint I'm Harry .
R/W dog with all the attributes of a big winner. Good head not overdone in any way, dark eyes good nose and nice underjaw. Well boned, with good brisket and ribs and nice tail. Looked a little tired to me today, RCC

I was so pleased to see this lovely level class of thirteen beautiful baby puppies lined up awaiting my appraisal. My problem was that I only had five places to award. So unfortunately some very worthy babies had to go without an award on the day, but I am sure that will change as their futures progress

Beautifull standard red puppy bitch, not overdone in any way. Long skull with good foreface, dark eyes neat well placed ears lovely expression and good mouth. Nice front with good brisket and tuck up, enough neck and tacked on shoulders, moved well. Pleased to award her BPIS.
2nd 15 Bennet Rhobulls Lillie.
W/Ticked baby, different type to 1st but just as gorgeous, lovely head with good nose and ears, bright clear eyes and a good mouth, nice cobby body moved ok.

Lovely expression, good head with finely wrinkled skull neat well placed ears with dark eyes and a good nose, nice upturn with a good jaw. Well boned front with a good body shape and tuck up completed a very nice picture and moved well. Pushed the CC winner very hard and I was pleased to award her the RCC

Enough neck into tacked on shoulders, good front, and well ribbed with good muscularity, looked good to me from all angles as well as on the move. I was pleased to award her the CC and BIS

Another lovely quality Br/W bitch. Strong head with dark eyes big nose and lovely upturn. Well boned with pleasing front, deep brisket and tacked on shoulders, good tuck up and nice topline completes the picture, moved well, pushed the 1st place and her kennelmate very hard.
